Peachy Keen Press Etsy Shop!

I posted THIS link a while ago about a new idea I had for a lil Etsy shop. I finally took the time to post a few things! So far I only have some Mail Art Letter Writing Service things posted. Which is basically what it sounds like! I know mostly everyone loves getting mail and I love making mail. I also know that not everyone has the time to sit and write a letter and create an artsy envelope, so thats where Peachy Keen Press comes in! I want to make, write and type up beautiful letters for people who normally don't get letters. I think this is a really fun way to do that!

I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit hesitant to start this cause it is one of those "well I can do that" ideas. Also its one of those things that people don't go out looking for and people who do look for this kinda stuff are probably already letter writing enthusiasts and mail artists. So with the people who would actually want to partake in this adventure of mine being so slim its really going to put my marketing and social media skills to the test! I'm really excited though and I'm really going to need my readers help! If you're reading this and it seems like something a friend of yours would like PLEASE SHARE IT!!
Phew! With the begging to help gain traffic over let me tell you a little bit about how it works! I have 3 sizes and 4 different mail art styles you can choose from. I've built THIS mini portfolio so you can see a lot of the mail art I have done. You can also choose from 3 different letter fonts. I have 2 typewriters and a slew of fancy pens! Also if you want just an artful custom envelope and not have me write and send a letter for you, I can do that too!  Basically I want to make something custom, beautiful and unique! There are few things in this world that would make me as happy has making mail for others! As dorky as that sounds.

I'm hoping in the next little bit I can get some zines posted. I haven't had the time to photograph all the ones I want to list. Also those listings are a bit more straight forward and didn't need so much contemplation. So good things are soon to come! I'm going to have a giveaway next week for some free mail art. So keep ya eye peeeeled! I'm REALLY open to any suggestions, ideas, concerns and feedback!

Last but not least if you favorite my Etsy shop I'll give you a 15% off coupon! This coupon will be good for a while also, so as I get some zines posted you can use it then too!

Hair Plopping?

So a little bit ago I saw this link on Facebook about plopping. The post wasn't really all that clear on what it was, so decided to look it up! I guess I'm behind the times and a bit of old news, but I decided to give it ago. I wanted to share my results! Now as my hair gets longer the curl in it kinda loses its gusto. SO I thought this would be a good solution! HERE is this neat link and THIS video.
I think it turned out pretty well! Not crazy curly but pretty wavy and hella effortless! Way easier then my normal flat iron waves and doesn't make my hair as dry! Things I would suggest. 1) Using a long sleeve tee-shirt that way you can wrap the arms around and secure it tightly. 2) Put product in your hair before wrapping it up. I've been using THIS be curly stuff from Aveda. (Aveda is my favorite although it totally busts the bank!) 3) The longer the better! I noticed the closer my hair is to dry the better the curls. 4) If you have fringe leave it out of the plop! If you group your bangs in with the curly-ness they kinda get crazy, but I found if I comb them down first then they are more manageable.

So what do you think? Have you tried plopping and have you had any sucess? Any tips to add to my list?

Lovely Things: Tattoos!

Mark my words one of these days I'm going to get a tattoo! Seems like my tumblr feed has beed filling up with tattoos. So I wanted to share some with you! Ugh these are just too beautiful!
Not sure if I could commit to a cat tattoo, but the coloring on this is just amazing!
Don't think I have the guts for a tattoo this big, but I just adore stipple work!
 Matching tattoos? Yes, please!
This would be another cool idea for matching tattoos! Some one can complete your butterfly half!

Happy Memorial Monday! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and hopefully got the day off!

Song and Doodle #48

Todays song and doodle is from one of my new found favorites, Adrianne Lenker! Thanks to Spotify recommendations I've been oodling over this all week! I love a good singer song writer and i'm a sucker to female vocals. PLUS she's got some amazing insightful lyrics that feel like a poem giving you a hug. I just adore it. Definitely prefect springy rainy day tunes

If you come around honey. I’ll probably just follow you home
‘Cause it’s all that I know how to do
I was born by a body, I’ll die by one too
And places are nothing if they ain’t got you

Peachy Keen Press!

I've wanted to open up a Etsy shop for a while and I finally got the gusto to do it! Its been a slow process and I'm dragging my feet. Today I wanted to show you my neat logo that I made! I'm quite fond of it. I plan on selling some zines and eventually art prints in my Etsy shop. If I ever get around to it! I'm also working on a mail art letter writing service. Basically making mail art for others, but I'll get more into that later! For now what do you think of the logo? I love to hear others opinions!

Outgoing Mail!

I've been practicing my typography lately. What better way to practice then on some envelopes! Here are just a couple that I did. I'm still behind on my correspondence but slowly making some progress. I've been working on a bunch of other projects that I keep getting behind! I'm not feeling very accomplished though because everything is half finished! Oh well, hopefully I finish them soon!

Making. Listening. Eating

Making. I bought a cool vintage bag recently and got these vinyl paints to spiffy it up! Heres my little practice piece.
Listening. Still goobering over Glass Animals. I'm in love with this album.
Eating. I made some asian pickles the other day. One of my favorite things ever! Despite them being a bit stinky!

Don't Forget!

#madewithfaded
Today's reminder is one that I've been gripping on too all week. Although I don't think it has helped much, we must move on! Its easy to forget that we all have the ability to make the here an now amazing. Our mind set and attitudes towards the universe can take us along way if we let them. Or our self destruction mind set can hold us back. The point is that it is up to us! (Kinda scary isn't it?) I got this lovely reminder on an envelope a little while ago and I guess it hasn't made sense until now. Until I had a crap week and I kept thinking "why do I feel like this" Then realizing that its because I'm choosing to feel like that. So, for today CHOOSE awesome and BE awesome!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Neat Artists: Helen Ahpornsiri

Today I want to share with you an amazing artist I stumbled across, Helen Ahpornsiri. She makes these amazing pieces using pressed plant leaves. The result is just stunning! These are so intricate and delicate. Some of my favorite art styles of art are those that look simple but once you look closer its anything but simple! Her forms are just beautiful and she really knows how to use negative space. Seeing her work is so inspiring to me and I hope it is to you too! Now I'm in the mood to draw something. You can buy her work HERE or learn more about her THERE

BONUS: Check out these mini fern pieces! So dainty!!

Readings: Mystery Books

I've been reading a ton lately! All thanks to my Osyter Books subscription. I have a hard time finding a book that I can actually finish. Theres nothing crappier then paying for a book you never finish! Thats partly why I love going to the library so much. I check out 10 books and only ready one. BUT life is too hectic these days to go peruse a library, so Osyter it is! I'm liking it so far. There are some books that I found on good reads that aren't under there unlimited section, but I've been able to find quite a few others that I've enjoyed!

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Nice little mystery book. I liked the way it flipped back and forth between the past and present. Lots of twists and turns, which always make for a good story! The only thing that I didn't like too much about it was the ending. It built it up SO much then was over all of a sudden. Overall I'd recommend this book if you're a mystery book kinda girl like me!

Alright so I'm not too happy to admit it, but I love sappy mystery romance books! They are just fun and exciting to read! Plus my love life has gone down the drain recently so its nice to read a story about a successfully happy romance. Plus I'm a sucker for mystery books. Combine them both and I'm one happy girl. Overall I really enjoyed this book. Its witty and moved quickly. The only thing I didn't like was the resolution. It just seemed very disjointed to me. Seemed like it came out of the blue. BUT I did like that it wrapped everything up nicely. Thats always a plus!

Phew! What have you been reading lately? Any suggestions?

Lovely Things: Food

When I'm in a crummy mood I eat. I know its incredibly unhealthy but sometimes its the only thing that makes the world feel ok. Lately my emotions have been making me feel pretty crummy, so I'm craving some comfort food. Heres some food findings I found on the interweb!
Ready to eat cookie dough! Its eat-able and won't make you sick! Such a brilliant idea. This s'more flavor has my name all over it.
I"m a sucker for anything dough and sweet! Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite things but I'd love to give these pecan sticky buns a go!
Caramel and marshmallows? Carmallows?!  Whats not to love!
Nothing is more comforting then coms sweet fluffy bread! Hokkaido Milk Toast
I had to add in a savory finding! These curry chicken sandwiches are just the best! I convinced Zoei to make them the other week. So yummy!
Last but not least a lovely Etsy find that our kitchen needs! I just love the name stamped into the lid. So cute! GneissSpice Etsy store

Hope you all have a lovely week! Happy Monday!

Song and Doodle #47

Todays song and doodle is surprisingly one of my new favorite songs. The lovely tune Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins) by Father John Misty. Now I must admit I've been on the fence about Father John for a while now. He has one or two gems that I can't get enough of then the rest of his stuff kinda gets lost on me. BUT this song is just the bees knees! The lyrics are quirky, interesting and have a really good underlying message. After loving this song his newest album I Love You, Honey Bear and just grown on my and its a pretty solid album! Learn a lesson from me and don't count an artist out until you've spent a moment or two combing through their albums! So what do you think? Are you a Father John Misty fan?

"I’ve never done this. Baby, be gentle
It’s my first time. I’ve got you inside
People are boring. But you’re something else completely
Damn, let’s take our chances"

Outgoing Mail!

I got some lovely peachy mail done this weekend! I think they turned out pretty neat! I love these peachy colors! I also got a mini about me zine done so I can send it out to new pen pals. I'll have to post it soon! I'm quite proud of my productivity this weekend. Its nice to get pretty things made!

April Art Journal!

Yet another month has flung before me before I could even argue about time passing! I've become quite fond of this giant mishmash book of mine! I think May will finish her up and then its time for a new one! I'm gaining quite the collection and I absolutely adore haveing this mini collection of events and thoughts. I was making some room on my shelves today and stumbled upon my past art journals and flipped though them. Some pages I enjoyed more then others, but at the root of it I'm so happy I have this artsy record of my past!

A lot of the embellishments I used were from my Messy Box!
Phew! April was a busy month! Now on to May!
