Spring Bits

We've been having a mighty wet spring here in the valley of Utah. I personally love how the cold still clings to my dresses and the unpredictableness of it all. Not an ideal spring but still lovely nonetheless. I keep flip flopping on whether I want to put together a garden or not. My window is quickly closing so if anything I might settle fo an herb garden. I enjoy the process of growing things despite always killing at least one plant. I've been focusing on caring for my houseplants lately. I got new pots for them and found new sunny spots in the house for them to reside. I'm trying my best to live out my plant lady dreams, hopefully I don't kill anything!
My little plant babies.
We also are doing some sun lemons this year. We won't be able to enjoy these until the end of summer and watching them turn all brown and watery has been fun. Sun lemons are essence of my childhood and I can't wait to see how the turn out!
Got the cutest little clipping off of my pilea plant! Hopefully by the end of summer she'll be ready for a new larger pot.
Its trick to find pots to with holes on the bottoms. It took me forever to find these two! If you have any cute planter recommendations let me know!

April Art Journal

Time is going by too fast! I keep getting behind because I'm not prioritizing things very well these days. I've been indulging in little painterly art projects and soaking up some sunshine. These days feel nourishing to my prone to sadness disposition. April was such a wonderful month. I really enjoy how this little envelope notebook turned out. I avoided using wet mediums because the paper was so thin. I really like the scrappy overlay vibe going on. I'm already behind on my May art journal but I already have so many things I want to document I'm excited to get caught up!

Weekend: Easter + Birthday + Takoyaki

I've gotten so behind! I still wanted to do this post even thought its been a moment. Me and Zoei turned 28 last week so I'm going to roll and Easter into one post! Our birthday has always fallen around Easter which is probably why its one of my favorite holidays. This year was pretty mellow for both occasions. There is something about getting older that really makes you want to slow down for any holiday (or moment I suppose)
You can't have Easter with out dying eggs! This is always my favorite Easter activity!
Zoei made me this amazing birthday card cause we bot LOVE The Office!
Zoei got me Mr.Sketch markers and a huge roll of paper! Its crazy how much these smell like my childhood. I'm super excited to spend summer nights coloring.
I got Zoei a Takoyaki electric pan! This is our first try at making some yummy octopus balls. This little pan is a lot of fun and although we both realized that maybe takoyaki wasn't our favorite we still had a TON of fun and already have a million other round-food ideas!
Also our first time cooking octopus! This creeped me out more than it probably should. I could definitely feel my ancestors rolling their eyes at me every time I wanted to squee. BUT it turned out surprisingly tasty!

I'm overflowing with beauty and love in my life! Looking forward to another year and more spring!
