Outgoing Mail!

I have such a huge stack of letters that I need to reply too. I've just been feeling incredibly uncreative and unmotivated lately so its taken me quite a while to get responses out. BUT I took the long weekend to work on some flip books. These took me a longer then usual. Still in a bit of a slump. I think this weekend was a step in the right direction! Now I just have to get the rest of my letters responded too! I think I'll need another long weekend.

Song and Doodle #67

Todays song and doodle is Can We Hang On? by Cold War Kids. Cold War Kids is one of those bands that I forget that I like. They have really catchy songs, kinda cryptic lyrics that can mean everything and anything. I love how this song can get stuck in your head. It makes you wanna listen to it a million times and start every playlist with this track. Straight from the beginning this song demands your attention. I'll admit the whole *new* album release they had was a bit of a miss for me. This track was the stand out and it makes sense, its a neat song with a good hook. I suppose thats expected with any band that has a large discography and has been making music for a long time. Some songs are good and some are bad, so it goes. Still a really solid band that I love to sing along with. What do you think? Love or hate?
"I think about tomorrow. If I can get through tonight
I know that we'll be alright. Can we be strong?"

Incoming Mail!

I'm super duper behind on responding to all my letters. Every time I sat down to work on letters I ended up cracking open my art journal and fiddling with a few pages. Then after that I was working on some decorations for my sisters birthday. A lot of craftiness going on lately! Needless to say my pile is stacking up quite a bit. I know I'll get around to it eventually, but until then I wanted to share some of the really cool mail I've received! I got most of these last month (some even longer then that! yikes!) I'm trying to think of something really cool I can send back as a "sorry for responding so late" kinda letter! Hopefully I get back into the groove of things soon!
 Really lovely birthday package!
So many fun goodies! I'm in love with those cactus magnets!
Big bunch of really cute mail. I love how all my letters to reply too kinda match with greys, pinks and black. I need to think of a fun project to do with all my matching envelopes!
Really neato flipbook! This girly knows out to put some cute packaging together. Its almost hard to open sometimes its so pretty!
This flip book has the coolest little pop up! I tried to make popup cards one time. None of them turned out nearly as cute as this!
Back envelope filled with paper treats!

So much to do, so little motivation.

Making. Listening. Eating.

Making. We had an tropical/underwater party for my sister. I made this really cool bird of paradise decoration. I'm kinda in love with it.
Listening. Sylvan Esso's new album What Now is amazing! Maybe even better than there first album!
Eating. For my sisters birthday cake we made these little "islands" I love they way the turned out and they were so yummy! Berry trifle cake! Yum!

April Art Journal!

I'm a little behind on posting this! Spring is always such a busy time for my family. So much to do, never enough time! I'm happy that I finally finished this floral notebook. Anything more than 2 months in one book I start to get bored. BUT I love having a few of these thick bulky ones in my collection! I'm thinking for this month I want to go back to something small. Since I'm so busy these days I need something quicker!

I survived all the April showers now I'm looking forward to some May flowers!

Lovely Things: Photography Bits!

I have a slight obsession with lomography and photography in general. I've been stumbling upon lots of really cool nifty photography things lately. I think this might be the summer I dust off all of my lomo cameras and possibly justify buying something new! I've really been wanting to hone in on my photography skills. (I've been saying that for ages!) BUT maybe now I'll actually do it. Or in the mean time day dream about all these dreamy photography finds!
Impossible Projects Duochrome instant film. How dreamy is this pink film! I love it! I really wish I had a Polaroid camera just to use this film. One day when I can manager to save enough money I'll be able to buy the I-1 Analog Instant Camera. Eek!
I read THIS really neat article about these little nifty bits to use 35mm film in a 120 film camera. Now these Japanese ones are a little expensive but I found THESE that are super affordable! I might have to start growing my Holga collection!
Camera bags! Camera bags these days are so cute! They are not dorky or bulky at all. I'm in love with JoTotes! I just love how classy this bag looks!
Lomography disposable cameras! I love these and they look so simple to use and the example photos they have look amazing. I do wish the price was a little more reasonable. But who knows maybe over time they'll become more affordable. I did read THIS article that had a pretty good review and also introduced me to THESE that look like they might be fun to experiment with! I had no idea there were so many types of disposable cameras!
Last but not least, this amazing video! I feel like I learned so much about lighting and processing. Also a little bit about our awful raciest background as a culture! Overall a really interesting video!

Still saving up to buy a DSLR and still researching to find the right one for me! If you have any suggestions let me know!
