Don't Forget!

Today's reminder is to EAT BREAKFAST! This is one of the things that I'm terrible at remembering to do. Which is odd because its one of the greatest things you can do for yourself. There is some serious self love that comes from waking up early and cooking a meal for yourself. Their is a restfulness that comes from it that is quite wondrous. Why I don't do it more is beyond me. (Probably cause I hate getting out of bed!) But I do think that is a good reminder to tell myself and make an effort towards.

I found some really yummy breakfast-ish recipes that would be lovely to try out!
Peanut Butter Chocolate Waffles with Bananas and Honeyed Yogurt
I love this recipe for the alternative to syrup! Syrup is amazing but probably not the healthiest way to start the day. Also I just adore the banana and peanut butter combo!
Tangerine Poppy Seed Scones
These look amazingly dense and delicious! I bet these would taste really amazingly with a cup of tea! Plus I like that I could make these on the weekend and eat them though out the week.
Lemon & Cream Cheese Rolls
There is something really magical about a sweet doughy bread all warm and gooey that is one of the best things in the world. I can't imagine a more perfect way to start the day!

Mmmmmmm now I'm hungry!

Lovely Things: Succulents!

This week I've got succulents on the brain! I was complaining about Valentines and how people buy flowers for each other. I've gone on many rants about how much I dislike cut flowers. Mostly because dead, wilty, dried and shriveled up little flowers really make me sad. (The only exception is a lei, but I also have a hard time throwing those out!) Anyways, I was thinking if someone really knew me they'd get me a succulent for Valentines day! Something cute and little that could sit on my desk and hopefully not die! So today I'm sharing some of my favorite succulent findings!
Ah-mazing little succulent kit from OHNORachio.

January Art Journal!

Finally getting my art journal for last month posted! Oh my time is going by fast. I did a lot more pages this last month then I normally do. These are a big simple, but nice. I like the smaller books. I think this month we'll go for a medium size that way maybe I draw a bit more instead of just ramble on for a mini-paragraph! Maybe one of these months I just need to do a giant art journal! Sounds intimidating but also a fun challenge!
January finishes up this little guy! Now time to add him to the box with the rest and start a new one! Yay for new journals!

Collage Scrap Exchange!

A while ago I signed up for THIS little collage artist submission-ness. Basically you sign up and exchange scraps with someone else and make a collage! I was so happy to paired up with the beautiful illustrator Tammy Bennett! She's a really awesome artist and I can't believe I got paired up with her! I got my scraps around December and was so excited to receive such wonderful bits! This past weekend I finally got around to putting my collage together. I'm not going to lie I struggled with this one a bit. Collageing isn't my strongest skill! I'm still not super excited by how it turned out, but at least I did it! I think its cute and not "bad". I've a bad habit of comparing my work to the other submissions that have been posted. I hate that I do that, its terrible terrible...crazy self destructive remi-ness! Gah. I definitely need more practice!
The exchange is sponsored by Brown Paper Bag and Papirmass! I've always wanted a subscription to Papiermass, but figured I should wait until I have an empty home that needs some art loves! They're awesome and worth checking out! Do you make collages? Any tips and tricks for me?
